Giants Sign Wheeler For $3.3 Million

Jim Callis Baseball America The Giants have signed first-round pick Zack Wheeler for $3.3 million. Talkin' Giants Baseball: The contract is for the 2010 season. Wheeler will report to Arizona for workouts and then participate in the Arizona Instructional League in the fall. Zack Wheeler is a big time prospect in league with Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum. The Giants have a bright future if it is assumed Jonathan Sanchez will reach his potential.

Glad the Giants signed Wheeler before the deadline. We need him playing ASAP with our now no longer deep pitching corps in the minors after Barnes and Alderson were traded (continues to disgust me with every Garko fly out, and Sanchez single with nobody on and two out).

We need Timmmmmmmmmmmmmmy to give us a vintage performance and set the Reds series off right tonight!
