Posey's Seminoles lose in opener

A day after they were the Giants' top two picks in the amateur draft Buster Posey and Conor Gillaspie each homered, but it was Gillaspie's Wichita State Shockers who held off Posey's Florida State Seminoles 10-7 in a Super Regional opener Friday in Tallahassee, Fla.
Gillaspie, a supplemental first-round pick and 37th overall selection, hit a three-run homer for the Shockers (48-15). Posey, the fifth overall pick, hit his 25th home run of the season for the Seminoles (52-12).

Dennis Guinn put the Seminoles in front in the second inning with a solo home run. Posey's homer in the fourth inning cut the Seminoles' deficit to 3-2, but Florida State never recaptured the lead. The Seminoles stranded 10 baserunners, five in scoring position.
Florida State, the No. 4 national seed, is facing elimination for the second consecutive week following the first game of a postseason tournament.
