Catcher rips RBI double as Giants move players around diamond

Buster Posey continued to show Tuesday what all the fuss over him was about.
Maintaining his authoritative hitting, Posey lined an RBI double in a two-run seventh inning that helped the Giants recover from a two-run deficit and outlast the Texas Rangers, 6-4, in a Cactus League exhibition. San Francisco's No. 1 selection (fifth overall) in last June's First-Year Player Draft, Posey's batting .400 (4-for-10) with three RBIs in his limited activity.Buster Posey continued to show Tuesday what all the fuss over him was about.
Posey didn't enter the game until the sixth inning. But he spent enough time behind the plate to get a thrill when Andruw Jones pinch-hit in the eighth inning. Born and raised in Leesburg, Ga., Posey grew up while Jones had his best years with the Atlanta Braves.
"It was awesome for me because I grew up a Braves fan," Posey said. "I feel like I know him; he doesn't have a clue who I am."
Another of Texas' elder statesmen, shortstop Omar Vizquel, did not play against his former teammates. Vizquel was seen strolling from the Rangers' clubhouse to the dugout down the right-field line shortly before the first pitch but apparently exchanged few or no pleasantries with the Giants, for whom he played from 2005-08.
Even if Vizquel had been in the visiting mood, he would have found relatively few familiar faces, since the Giants sent a mostly veteran-free crew here. But he'll always have fans among the orange-and-black.
"I think all the young guys knew you could go to him, because he just had that personality," catcher Steve Holm said.
"He was one heck of a teammate," infielder Kevin Frandsen said. "Omar was always great with me."
In other developments from San Francisco's third victory in four games, manager Bruce Bochy explored various personnel options by using a handful of Giants at spots they haven't occupied recently. Frandsen, who's competing for the second-base job, played shortstop for the first time this spring; John Bowker, who had played 66 innings in the outfield and only six at first base, played seven innings at the latter spot; and Eugenio Velez, who has concentrated on playing outfield, started at second base.
Left fielder Fred Lewis, recovering from right foot surgery, displayed decent speed while stealing second base in the first inning and edged closer to playing daily.
Home run king Ryan Rohlinger again hit the ball hard, but this time it was an eighth-inning line drive at Texas third baseman Johnny Whittleman, who fumbled the ball for an error.
